LiHO Membership and the LiHO TEA SG App
LiHO’s membership is called myLiHOTEA, and it lives inside the LiHO TEA SG app, the brand’s official app for Singapore. This page explains both in plain terms: how to join, what the three tiers give you, how points work, and the honest answer to the only question that really matters, which is whether any of this is worth your time. Short version: join the free tier today, because one members only deal inside the app is worth more than everything else combined.
The App, in 30 Seconds
The LiHO TEA SG app (by Royal One Pte Ltd, on the App Store and Google Play) does four jobs:
- Order ahead for pickup. Build your drink, size, sugar, ice and toppings, pay in the app, and collect at the counter of your chosen outlet without joining the queue.
- Hold your membership. Your tier, points and rewards live here. There is no physical card.
- Carry the members only deals, including the S$1.90 milk tea and app only promotions that never appear at the counter.
- Deliver your birthday drinks and member rewards, which arrive inside the app.
Signing up takes a couple of minutes: download the app, register with your mobile number, confirm the verification code, and your free Silver membership is active straight away. Nobody pays a joining fee for myLiHOTEA. Ever. The higher tiers are reached by spending, not by buying a membership.
LiHO Membership Tiers
| Tier | How you get it | Points earned | Birthday treats | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | Free, the moment you sign up | 1 point per S$1 | 1 free Medium drink | Everyone. Join before your next cup |
| Gold | S$200 accumulated spend in a year | 2 points per S$1 | 2 free Medium drinks + 1 free Large drink | The weekly drinker |
| Premium | S$500 accumulated spend in a year | 3 points per S$1 | 3 free Medium drinks + 2 free Large drinks | The near daily drinker |
Read the middle column slowly, because it is the whole game. Points are earned on what you spend, and the earn rate doubles at Gold and triples at Premium. Points stay valid for 12 months, so this is not a use it this week programme, your balance builds calmly across the year.
The birthday treats deserve a number. At Gold, two Mediums and a Large are worth roughly S$15 at counter prices, on top of the faster points. At Premium, three Mediums and two Larges are worth roughly S$26. These drinks land in your app during your birthday month, so open the app when your month comes, members lose birthday drinks every year simply by never looking.
The Deal That Makes Membership a No-Brainer
Members can buy a Milk Tea with Golden Pearl for S$1.90 in the app, once per member per day. Against a counter price starting at S$4.80 for a milk tea, that is a saving of about S$2.90 on a single cup, every day you want it. A free Silver member who uses this deal just twice a month saves about S$70 a year before points, birthdays or anything else enters the picture. This is why the verdict at the bottom of this page is not really a debate.
Around that anchor deal, the app regularly carries members only offers and early access to limited series, and short promotional windows (the 1-for-1 and buy 2 get 1 free style offers) are usually app only. Our Promotions page tracks the live ones.
Earning and Spending Points
Earning
Points follow your membership, not your payment method. Order in the app and they credit automatically. Ordering at the counter, show your member code in the app so the purchase attaches to your account. Orders placed through delivery platforms sit outside the membership, so no points there.
Spending
Points exchange for drink rewards inside the app. The practical way to think about it: your points balance is a slow building free drink fund, and the higher your tier, the faster it fills. Because points live for 12 months, even a light drinker can let them accumulate toward a reward instead of watching them drip away.
The spend maths for the tiers
Gold’s S$200 a year is about S$17 a month, roughly three to four Medium cups a month. A once a week Classic Milk Tea habit comes to about S$250 a year, which means weekly drinkers reach Gold without changing a single habit. Premium’s S$500 is about two cups a week. Nobody should buy extra drinks to chase a tier, the perks are a thank you for a habit you already have, not a target worth spending toward.
Our Verdict: Is LiHO Membership Worth It?
For anyone who drinks LiHO at least twice a month, yes, and it takes thirty seconds of reasoning. Silver is free, it unlocks the S$1.90 member milk tea, and that one deal repays the two minutes signup takes on your very first use. Gold is the sweet spot for weekly drinkers, who will land on S$200 of yearly spend without trying and get faster points plus a birthday bundle worth about S$15 for it. Premium is for genuine regulars only, two or more cups a week, and at that point you do not need this page to tell you it pays.
The only people who should skip membership are the once or twice a year drinkers, and even for them, Silver costs nothing and expires nothing, so the honest verdict is: if LiHO is ever your plan, be a member first.
